Short and sweet

It gives us mobility, the strength necessary to carry heavy objects, as well as some stability, but the shoulder – that part of the body that connects the biceps to the back muscles – is also a ticking time bomb for injuries and pain thanks to its complexity and size.

What causes shoulder pain?

Two major factors make the shoulder an injury-prone joint. The first is the wide range of motion that the shoulder joint, and the second is the complexity of the “elements” that work together to allow that range of motion. At a very basic level, the causes of shoulder pain can be divided in three categories that tend to overlap:

  1. Injuries and accidents.
  2. Atrophy caused by the normal aging process
  3. Wear and tear from carrying heavy weights or for living a sedentary lifestyle

And so, the “arsenal” problems may be extremely diverse. A partial list includes tendon tears (partial or complete), cartilage tears, bone fractures, shoulder discharges, “frozen shoulder syndrome” (see separate details on this site), arthritis or tendonitis, and more.

What does shoulder pain feel like?

As mentioned, the wide variety of potential problems brings with it different types of pain, and at different levels. Shoulder pain can be sharp or dull, prolonged or momentary, pain that causes movement restrictions, and more.
As for the movement restrictions, shoulder pain can actually diminish your quality of life since simple daily operations, from lifting objects to brushing your teeth or your hair, can be impaired.

When to see a doctor

Consult your doctor to rule out other health condition if your pain is accompanied by redness or swelling on the area. Also talk to your doctor if you pain becomes chronic or lasts for an extended period of time. In the case of injuries or accidents, it’s important to contact your doctor as soon as possible.

How is shoulder pain diagnosed?

Before or after a comprehensive visual and physical examination to identify weaknesses, distortions or limitations, the physician will try to determine the source of the problem by asking about the events that preceded the pain.
Imaging tests such as X-ray, ultrasound, CT and others will often be needed.

How is shoulder pain treated?

When it comes to treating shoulder pain, the secret is keeping the area mobile. In many cases, especially if no surgical intervention is required, you will be sent to physical therapy, where you will learn how to strengthen the area, regain your range of motion and reduce pain.
But don’t expect shoulder physical therapy to be a one-time thing; this is something you must work for at least a few weeks, or more. Occasionally, your doctor will prescribe medications to help manage the pain. In cases of extreme pain or severe information, they may also consider steroid injections.
Only the minority of patients will need surgical intervention to repair injured tendons or to surgically replace the entire shoulder joint.

The advanced Israeli technology that alleviates shoulder pain

Shoulder pain can also be treated effectively using smart pain relief technologies. These are home appliances like “Solio”, a lightweight, simple and user-friendly device that involves the use of targeted radio waves that penetrate deep inside the tissue. Solio handles a wide range of pain in various parts of the body (but not all of them, of course. Please refer to the Consumer Newsletter or information on this site for more information). When you use Solio, you will feel the pain relief process thanks to the combination of technologies and the sense of warmth that penetrates the depth of the shoulder area.

How can I avoid shoulder pain in the future?

Physical therapy exercises will make you “gain” muscle and strengthen the area, which can help you prevent future injuries. This is in addition to avoiding pain-causing actions while maintaining range of motion.

Stop the pain now with Solio – the only pain-relieving radio wave technology device.

Don’t let the pain affect you!

Medical and professional reviews on Solio Alpha Plus

“It is sometimes difficult to accurately diagnose orthopedic conditions or injuries that cause pain, and those that have been diagnosed, it is sometimes difficult to treat without surgical means that are usually applied only to the most extreme situations of pain. As a result, many of my patients are in constant search of non-surgical solutions to pain that will be effective, and drug-independent. To explore an energy-based alternative, I decided to use Solio Alpha Plus to treat five of my patients with chronic ‘tennis elbow’ pain. The response was very encouraging. Not only did the patients report fewer episodes of pain and reduced pain, but also in follow-up tests some of them showed significant improvement and healing.” Prof. Yoav Matan, Director of the Orthopedic Department, Hadassah Medical Center Mount Scopus, Israel

“I am familiar with the use of soft laser, LED, and bipolar RF energies for a wide range of applications, especially in indications where inflammation and stimulation are required and healing processes are encouraged, therefore, I was not surprised when I came across a combination of these energies in Solio Alpha Plus for self-care. I recommend Solio Alpha Plus to some of my patients, as part of their postoperative rehabilitation process. All patients who used Solio Alpha Plus reported a shorter recovery time and a smooth healing process after surgery.”.Stephen from the Netherlands, MD for Plastic Surgery and Reconstruction Surgery, SpaMedica, Toronto, Canada

“I have tried Solio Alpha Plus on a number of patients who are actively involved in sports and tennis to treat ‘tennis elbow’ and lower back / neck pain. I was very impressed with the results and decided to let all my patients who are in pain try the device instead of using the creams or various medications I prescribe. Most patients experienced a marked decrease in the level of pain and their recovery time was significantly reduced. They all reported that the device was very easy to use, and none of them reported any side effects or adverse reactions. “ Tina S. Ulster, MD, Director of the Washington Institute for Dermatological Laser Surgery Georgetown University Medical Center

“During my dermatological treatments, I come across many patients who turn to me due to skin pains and other skin problems that cause pain. Treatment with various medications, or injections, is not always recommended – whether due to allergies, various side effects, or other personal reasons. After treating with Solio Alpha Plus, very positive results were observed in relieving the pain of my patients. If necessary, medication therapy can be combined with device therapy. The Solio Alpha Plus device can aid in the healing process, shorten the duration of the pain, and speed up pain relief. Because this device produces 3 energies – LLLT, IR, and Bi-Polar RF, it can resolve a variety of pains on the surface of the skin, and in varying depth layers as well as up to the dermis layer of the skin. Solio Alpha Plus has greatly helped my patients and the resolution of the problems and pains they have suffered”, Dr. Judith Hellman, Clinical Professor of Dermatology, Mount Sinai Hospital, New York, USA
