Meditate Your Pain Away: A Guide to Mindfulness for Lasting Relief

Meditation helps relieve pain by enabling you to control your perception of pain over time, leading to lasting relief. It is a financially costless process that puts you in control, and at minimum, helps you relax. Mindfulness, the practice of being in the moment, is the foundation of this technique. To practice, begin with controlled deep breathing in a clear, relaxing space for 2-3 minutes, then proceed with imagery techniques like Altered focus, Dissociation, or Sensory splitting. Short 20-minute daily sessions are often sufficient, and results can be experienced immediately, with lasting effects developing over time.
